We Received Our Copy of 'The Furniture Wars' Here Are a Few Excerpts:

-How did Henredon go from making 100% of its products here in the US to completely sourcing its casegoods? It started innocently enough when a British antique merchant contracted with Henredon to import hand-carved parts from the Phillipines. The antique merchants name? Paul Maitland-Smith

-Consumer brand preference is weak, vendor loyalty is almost nonexistant and substitutions are easy which means producers have little leverage with retailers. This leads to excessive price competition and therefore chronically low margins.

-The battlefield is littered with the corpses of managers who said "it's not the product, it's the program that counts."

'Furniture Wars' can be purchased from Amazon; we have included a link from Amazon to the left.
