Furniture Tomorrow has learned that after volunteering on a Habitat for Humanity project, a team of executives at Furniture Brands is demanding $3.9 million in compensation. The executives have claimed the compensation is appropriate as they were able to meet certain established targets like showing up on time and only taking 3 fifteen minute breaks during the day. Habitat For Humanity when reached for comment said their organization does not compensate its thousands of volunteers for their time.
One executive from Furniture Brands who spoke on a condition of anonymity said that although the house they built was not constructed correctly and later toppled, the Furniture Brands team had almost 2,000 nails left over after the project was completed and that was similar to free cash flow performance. Habitat for Humanity when reached would not comment specifically on the Furniture Brand's demand for compensation.
Story developing.
