Market Housing Update

HIGH POINT -

For those of you attending the High Point Furniture Market this weekend/next week, we wanted to give you an update on some of the accomodations available in the beautiful city of High Point. As you may have heard, Radisson Hotels & Resorts decided that their property on Main Street was no longer deserving of the name. The hotel is now called "Hotel High Point". Other than evoking memories of a famous Eagles song (you can check out but you can never leave), nothing much has changed at the Hotel High Point. Of course, they were legally required to change the sign, but everything else is the same.

For those of you attending the next Las Vegas market, we wanted to give you an update on some of the accomodations availabe in Las Vegas. Steve Wynn recently unveiled "Encore". Encore is a distinct destination with its own repertoire of accommodations, culinary offerings and leisure activities. The 2,034 suites offer the luxury of space in a comfortable, residential setting. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows with dramatic views, advanced technologies and timeless design. You can order from any of Encore's award-winning chefs-in-residence - all the time. The Spa and Salon provide yet another experience of comfort and elegant ambience. At the end of the day, unwind at "XS", Encore's new club concept. The poolside ambiance mingles with the nightclub's decadent vibe to create an oasis. The Esplanade is retail therapy featuring Hermes and Chanel. Encore also defies casino convention with a more intimate approach to gaming. The gaming area consists of columned pavilions, canopies and draperies that partition the gaming area into private chambers. If creating the distinctive guest experience is an art, Steve Wynn's newest masterpiece is "Encore".

As of press time, a "deluxe" room at the Hotel High Point during the market is $329 per night. A "Resort Suite" at the Encore during the next Vegas market is $259 per night.

  1. Las Vegas doesn't stand a chance. As a High Point buyer, I would miss paying exorbitant rates for crappy hotel rooms complete with roaches and mildew, standing in line for the privilege of being handed the "market menus" with "special pricing", waiting for the local transportation, and those fabulous rental car rates. Oh, I forgot, don't need a rental car in Vegas.
