Extreme Home Makeover Corporate Edition To Remodel Furniture Brands and Others

When Ty Pennington on hit ABC television show Extreme Home Makeover shouts, "bus driver move that bus" what lies behind is typically a new home built for a needy family. But starting this fall when Pennington takes the reigns at Extreme Home Makeover Corporate Edition, he hopes what lies behind the bus is a remodeled corporation.

"It's a new challenge for me" said Pennington, "but the work is just as important as our Home Edition." Several episodes have already been taped and will begin to air this fall. While no details have officially been released from the network, Furniture Brands is rumored to have been the subject of the shows first episode. "We thought the furniture industry was the best place to start" said Executive Producer Aaron Goldstein.

Sources at ABC said viewers can expect to see Pennington arriving at the doorstep of companies in the same fashion as the Home Edition, complete with megaphone. "Here was a guy in our lobby with a megaphone shouting, 'Good morning Furniture Brands.' I had no idea what was going on said Ralph Scozzafava, CEO of Furniture Brands, and it was obvious after Ty came to remake our company that none of us did."

"He came in with a megaphone" said Sweetman, Director of Human Resources at Furniture Brands. "I gave him a big hug, I thought he was here because we were involved in giving away some Henredon to a needy family for the Home Edition show."

While ABC has kept details of the new show scarce, executives have reported that shareholders will be invited to be behind the bus when Pennington shouts, "bus driver move that bus." "It's certainly better than being under the bus" said one Furniture Brand's shareholder after learning of the new series.
